Emergency Shelter
IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: EMERGENCY SHELTER WILL ONLY OPEN WHEN THE TEMPERATURE IS 32 DEGREES OR LOWER FOR MORE THAN 24 HOURS.
Our mission has always been to provide safe, warm shelter for Grundy citizens during the coldest times of the year. Due to funding limitations, we have had to make the difficult decision to reserve our funding to provide ONLY “cold weather shelter” in order to preserve as many lives as possible when the cold weather is at its most dangerous.
We encourage anyone in need of shelter to contact us for information on available community resources and referrals for other shelter options.
Current PADS Guests
If you are in need of assistance from Grundy Area PADS staff, please contact your shelter coordinator or call our office at 815-942-3245.
We are available via email and phone Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Management of Shelter Request Information
Grundy Area PADS is in partnership with the Will County CoC Homeless Management Information System (HMIS).
HMIS is a project of United Way of Will County in partnership with organizations in Will, Kendall, and Grundy Counties, Illinois that support or provide homeless, health care, medical, or social services to persons and families in need.
